  1. The Nintendo Switch is what the NX will now be called, not a bad name. Why switch? You can play as a console in your home or snap in a couple of mini controllers to the side of the unit, which is in a docking station, and then take it on the go. Check out the link for more info and some games that will be on the system: http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/10/20/the-nintendo-nx-has-an-official-name-nintendo-switch
  2. Well, unfortunately I'm not getting a Switch at launch and had to cancel my pre-order. I had some unexpected house bills come up and had to reallocate money for that. I'll have to live vicariously through DB and Zeux for the time being. Not sure when I'll be able to pick one up but I will get one eventually.
  3. Nintendo will have a couple of streams with more information about their new console the Switch. The first will be tonight at 10:30pm ET and will go over (hopefully) price, exact release date (they had just March as of now) and probably more specs on the system and game announcements. Then on Friday morning there will be another stream just going over the games that were announced in more detail, this will start at 9:30am ET. Check this link for times in your area - http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/01/11/how-to-watch-the-nintendo-switch-reveal-live-streams You can check out the stream on Nintendo's website and on there Twitch or Youtube channel. Go to here for those links - http://www.nintendo.com/switch/ Also you can watch it on IGN's website or on there app on various devices (PS4, XB1, roku, etc...). Check here for those various links - http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/01/11/how-to-watch-the-nintendo-switch-reveal-live-streams
  4. Anyone picking up the NES mini? It comes out this Friday, has 30 games preinstalled and is $60. I was thinking of asking for it for x-mas but I've been reading it might be in short supply.
  5. News and announcements are coming in fast in furious and E3 hasn't even started yet. Check out some of the recent announcements: Destiny DLC - http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/06/09/destiny-rise-of-iron-officially-announced Watchdogs 2 - http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/06/08/watch-dogs-2-first-look-preview-welcome-to-san-francisco?abthid=5758a4aea587c5ea31000023 Cuphead (gameplay) - http://www.ign.com/videos/2016/06/09/cuphead-platforming-gameplay-reveal New Harmonix VR music game - http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/06/09/harmonixs-next-music-game-detailed-launching-alongside-playstation-vr?abthid=57598abe8d67858d39000008 New Worlds for Lego Dimensions - http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/06/09/new-lego-dimensions-expansion-features-the-goonies-sonic-et-more Whoa, that's a lot and not even all of it. Prepare yourselves for the onslaught of tweets, facebook posts and whatever other news items from your favorite social sites!!
  6. It was announced in an earnings call that the Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing series will be coming to mobile devices (Android and IOS). These will be "pure gaming experiences" opposed to the social nature of Miitomo. Check out the link for all the info - http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/04/27/fire-emblem-and-animal-crossing-coming-to-smartphones Excited for more Nintendo goodness on mobile?
  7. Looks like the new incarnation of Zelda for the Wii U has been delayed until next year and has also been announced for the new Nintendo NX system (like twilight princess came out for both Wii and Gamecube). This was announced in an earnings call recently along with the March release of the NX console. Check out the link - http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/04/27/zelda-wii-u-delayed-to-2017-also-coming-to-nx I had a feeling this was going to happen since this game was being developed so late in the console cycle. I'm almost thinking they should just not worry about the Wii U version and just concentrate on the NX one.
  8. Nintendo released there first mobile (for cell phones/tablets) app/game this week - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/miitomo/id1073816197?mt=8 More of a social app then an actual game (at least to me) but still has the Nintendo fun and charm if you are into social apps. Check it out and if you want to become friends in the app (this is one of my gripes, you can only be friends right now only if you are friends on Twitter or Facebook and if you are in person) friend me on Twitter (taomaster99). This is also on Android.
  9. Much like the old Club Nintendo this new program called My Nintendo has you earning coins to go towards prizes like buying games or getting discounts on various games in their library. A couple of changes is there doesn't seem to be any physical items you can redeem your points for this time, at least not yet, and you can earn points through there mobile (cell phone/tablet games (which there is only one right now - Miitomo). Check it out - https://my.nintendo.com/
  10. Source: Kotaku And yet another console generation has nearly completely gone by and I feel gamer's shame for not having played on mine enough. (Sigh). I actually think that I played my DSi more despite the very short time that I had it alongside my Wii before I traded it back in and got a PSP again. And I actually have good games for my 3DS XL, too. Need to get up the motivation to get back in on it. With the addition of mobile games and the resurgence of PC gaming and PC Gaming hardware being at an all-time low price-point, it's become very tough to make time for portable gaming. It does not help that, while there are good games for the 3DS and I tend to keep games forever and not get bored with them, the ones I like on this platform come out infrequently. And it does not have the availability of solid racing games that would have me plunking down more cheddar for 3DS games. It has RPG's nailed, though, if I could just force myself to get into those more. But the huge opus-epic RPGs of the full-sized console with their 80 hours of gameplay have broken me. Maybe this summer? I need to find some solid turn-based tactical games for it, too. - Vr/ZxD..>>
  11. So what game, currently and all time, have you played the most? For right now it's Minecraft on the Xbox One (probably of all time too but I'll get to that in a second). I have 200+hrs in it and probably will be putting in a lot more since I play with my son now. As far as all time, besides Minecraft, Skyrim holds that recording with over 224hrs!! How about you folks? What game has kept you attention for an ungodly amount of time????
  12. If anyone has any cool screenshots post them here!! I'll start it off with a few. Bad Day in Halo 5!!!! My pet raptor, unfortunately he is no longer with me as he was killed! This picture doesn't do this shark justice! It's huge, a megalodon!!!
  13. Well, the only other big title, that I can think of, that Nintendo had for this fall has now been delayed until the 1st qtr of 2016. The reason is to give it more time to get everything polished in the game, can't blame them for that!
